It's hard to believe this picture is over 850 years old. Its beauty and elegance are timeless. It could be a contemporary painting. We still find Hildegard of Bingen astonishing. Mystic, Abbess, Poet, Doctor, Composer, Advisor to Popes - a person of immense scope and power. A towering intellect for the ages. One of the Doctors of the Church.

This painting of Jesus is an illustration from Scivias - Scito vias Domini (Know the Ways of God), an illuminated manuscript from the mid 1100s which describes 26 religious visions she experienced.

For a long time we looked at this picture and couldn't understand why she called it The True Trinity. Then we found out that the gold center ringed circle represents God the Father, and the next circle in silver represents the Holy Spirit! (In some versions you might see of this picture, there is a green shift to the circles, but that is incorrect.)

For more information about Hildegard and her art, you might want to visit www.hildegard-society.org. They have a wealth of fascinating information there.

** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx! Fine art printers do this because the images are almost never the same rectangular ratio of the standard paper sizes. It also gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt.

- Acid-free fine art paper.
- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
- Cardboard backer
- Above story of the art
- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
