The words love, joy, peace appear in almost every witness to the cause of Edel Quinn. A devout Irish woman, she was turned down by the Poor Clares at age 18 because she had tuberculosis. Two years later she became active in the Legion of Mary in Dublin, and at age 29, still slowly dying from tuberculosis, she went to Africa to do missionary work for the Church though the Legion of Mary.

There she set up hundreds of Legion branches and councils, many of which are still active today, with thousands of people continuing her missionary work. In her lifetime, she touched tens of thousands of lives, and by now her work has reached at least hundreds of thousands.

The Vicar General of Mauritius spoke of "her constant joy; she was always smiling; she never complained", and Archbishop McCarthy of Nairobi said she had "more experience than any single Missionary I know."

What was the source of her joy? "What a desolation life would be without the Eucharist," she wrote. She was also extremely devoted to Mary, always carrying a rosary in her hands. She had a childlike trust in the protection of the Blessed Mother, and she never refused anything she thought Our Lady had asked of her. She died of her disease in 1944, 7 years after she arrived in Africa. She was declared Venerable in 1994 by Pope St. John Paul II, which means she lived a life of heroic virtue. She needs a miracle to be Beatified, so pray to her for one. To count as her miracle, the prayers need to be devoted to her only. (source: www.legionofmary.ie)

** IMPORTANT ** IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER!!
There is a white border around the image. About 0.5" for 5x7, 1.3" for 8.5x11", 1.6" for 11x17", and 1.75" for 13x17", so the image is smaller than the paper!!! The border gives the print a nice finished look when framed without a matt.

- Acid-free fine art paper.
- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
- Cardboard backer
- Above story of the art
- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
